Are You an SRA Survivor?

Welcome to Only God Rescued Me! My name is Lisa and I am also an SRA survivor. I am so happy you found this site and want to assure you that you are not alone. There are fellow SRA/RA/MC survivors world-wide. While we endured the abuse in isolation, we heal together.

I worked on healing alone for many years and it was very slow going. Many years into that solitary struggle I finally gave up and looked online for other survivors. It was terrifying and dangerous, but it ended up being just what I needed to go forward in healing. I have made many, many good friends along the way and have even been able to meet some survivors in person. It changed my life.

Survivors are programmed to stay isolated. In my experience, survivors find many reasons to pull back from other survivors. Don’t let this happen to you. Be willing to connect and once you find solid people, keep the connection. We are programmed to pull away. We overcome that programming only through God and the contact we have with others. The more solid our support the more the programming loses its control. The good news: You are no longer alone!

So welcome to Only God Rescued Me. Learn what you can and be willing to reach out to survivors and solid ministers in your church. Everything inside will be screaming about the danger so take it slow and steady. Stay the course and you will find healing and friends.

Let’s heal together! The biggest step is making sure you have a solid relationship with God. If you have not made God the most important person in your life, then pray. Ask God to forgive you of all your sins and ask Him to save you. Thank Jesus for dying on the cross so that you could be saved. Then enter into the most precious relationship you will ever have.

God is good. He loves you. His will was not for you to go through abuse. He created you to be in the garden of Eden. Sin got us kicked out and sin put us into the groups that abused us. But God gets us out and sets us on a path of healing.

Let’s heal together! Welcome to Only God Rescued Me.
